Alas, great potential for a four day weekend was foiled by the fickle ways of the moon. You see, local holiday, the Night of Destiny (celebrated last Thursday, which was nice don’t get me wrong) and the end of Ramadan/breaking of the fast (unfortunately being observed today, over tomorrow…) are determined by a sighting of the moon by the Imams.
